As a Licensed Professional Counselor, with a Masters in Counselor of Education from UW-Whitewater, I've worked 10+ years primarily with both outpatient therapy and higher levels of care in behavioral health, including partial hospitalization and psychiatric inpatient.
My journey hasn't always been easy either, and I've realized that self-compassion was missing in my world. I have learned the art of letting go of life issues that are out of my control; working through difficult emotions instead of avoiding them; and then most importantly making time for myself!
And for me, that's vitally critical with a busy, interesting life that includes a husband and four wonderfully bright and crazy kids.
